It is released in three lan\u00adguages: in Hun\u00adga\u00adri\u00adan on 23 Octo\u00adber, in Ger\u00adman on 9&nbsp;Novem\u00adber, both in 2025, and in Eng\u00adlish at Whits\u00adun href=\"https:\/\/rosa-von-zehnle-ur.bandcamp.com\/album\/album-hungarys-freedom-my-freedom-26\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hungary\u2019s Christ\u00admas<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/rosa-von-zehnle-ur.bandcamp.com\/album\/album-hungarys-freedom-my-freedom-26\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Year\u2019s Gree\u00adtings<\/a> \u2013 bring this deep\u00adly emo\u00adtio\u00adnal album, one that rai\u00adses goo\u00adse\u00adbumps time and again, to its&nbsp;close.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>Each song tells of cou\u00adra\u00adge,<\/strong><br> resis\u00adtance, the will to be free, and the hope for peace that has never faded. The Hun\u00adga\u00adri\u00adan bag\u00adpi\u00adpe (magyar duda), now almost for\u00adgot\u00adten, reap\u00adpears in many of my songs: It was once the sym\u00adbol of that free\u00addom which was a&nbsp;thorn in the side of the com\u00admu\u00adnists, and who\u00adse sound I&nbsp;sor\u00adely miss in today\u2019s Hun\u00adga\u00adri\u00adan music.<br>An album that con\u00adveys the histo\u00adry of Hun\u00adga\u00adry in a&nbsp;com\u00adple\u00adte\u00adly new way: The\u00adse are not mere\u00adly songs; the length and depth of most tracks bear wit\u00adness to Hun\u00adga\u00adri\u00adan histo\u00adry in its detail and with pro\u00adfound per\u00adso\u00adnal enga\u00adge\u00adment.<br>A work that moves lis\u00adten\u00aders not only musi\u00adcal\u00adly, but opens their eyes to histo\u00adry. <br>Thus, for once, Hungary\u2019s histo\u00adry is not dry and didac\u00adtic, but comes ali\u00adve, is vivid, and can be tru\u00adly felt.<br><br><strong>A spe\u00adcial thank-you goes to<\/strong><br>M\u00e1ria from P\u00e9cs, who trans\u00adla\u00adted my lyrics\u200a\u2014\u200awhich I&nbsp;always wri\u00adte in Ger\u00adman first\u200a\u2014\u200ainto per\u00adfect Hun\u00adga\u00adri\u00adan, ther\u00adeby making the music even more authen\u00adtic.<br><br><strong>Why this music album?<\/strong><br>I have been living in a&nbsp;freer Hun\u00adga\u00adry for ten years, and never in my life have I&nbsp;been as free as I&nbsp;am here. I&nbsp;had to endu\u00adre com\u00admu\u00adnism for 29&nbsp;years in the GDR, so I&nbsp;know what I\u2019m wri\u00adting and tal\u00adking about!<br>I have left the com\u00admu\u00adnists behind me, with ever\u00ady\u00adthing that was possible:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>18 months in pri\u00adson for attemp\u00adting to flee the country,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>inclu\u00adding 9&nbsp;months in a&nbsp;STASI pri\u00adson (inclu\u00adding pre\u00adtri\u00adal detenti\u00adon in Chem\u00adnitz pen\u00adding depor\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon, fol\u00adlo\u00adwed by a&nbsp;return to the&nbsp;GDR),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>72&nbsp;days in soli\u00adta\u00adry confinement,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>18&nbsp;days and nights in a&nbsp;dark basement,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>plus time in the STASI pri\u00adson hos\u00adpi\u00adtal due to a&nbsp;hun\u00adger strike&nbsp;\u2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>later, a&nbsp;ban on pro\u00adfes\u00adsio\u00adnal employment,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>forced expro\u00adpria\u00adti\u00adon of my home (which beca\u00adme \u201cpublic pro\u00adper\u00adty\u201d), no com\u00adpen\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adon to this&nbsp;day,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and much&nbsp;more).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even back then in the GDR, I&nbsp;had the cou\u00adra\u00adge to stand up against evil (wri\u00adting poli\u00adti\u00adcal poems in pri\u00adson) and to use my head.<br><br><strong>My first CD, \u201eDesi\u00adre against expec\u00adta\u00adti\u00adons: GDR 1984\/1\u201c, sings about this.<\/strong><br>I wro\u00adte the\u00adse (my) poems in 1984 while in a&nbsp;GDR pri\u00adson.<br>2024: For\u00adty years later, I&nbsp;redis\u00adco\u00adver\u00aded them and set them to music.<br>Tracks 1\u200a\u2013\u200a13 are cal\u00admer ver\u00adsi\u00adons, while the same titles in tracks 14\u200a\u2013\u200a26 are full of musi\u00adcal power (Gothic, hard rock,&nbsp;etc.):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83c\udde9\ud83c\uddea <a href=\"http:\/\/rab-k.de\/ddr-cd-1-de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/rab\u2011k.de\/ddr-cd-1-de<\/a><br>\ud83c\udded\ud83c\uddfa <a href=\"http:\/\/rab-k.de\/ddr-cd-1-hu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/rab\u2011k.de\/ddr-cd-1-hu<\/a><br>\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 <a href=\"http:\/\/rab-k.de\/ddr-cd-1-en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/rab\u2011k.de\/ddr-cd-1-en<\/a><br><em>P.S.: You can lis\u00adten to the full songs up to three times for free via the links!<\/em><br><br><strong>After the fall of the Ber\u00adlin Wall in 1989, when the GDR was \u201cabsor\u00adbed\u201d by the FRG,<\/strong><br>I had to keep fight\u00ading for my free\u00addom the\u00adre as well. Ever\u00ady\u00adthing was in uphe\u00adaval; not\u00adhing was cer\u00adtain, and not\u00adhing was tru\u00adly free.<br>It is only in the last ten years, here in Hun\u00adga\u00adry, that I&nbsp;have found what I&nbsp;have been sear\u00adching for my enti\u00adre life: free\u00addom of thought, action, and choice. Free\u00addom that means living in peace, enjoy\u00ading life, and sha\u00adping it as one wis\u00adhes. After more than 50&nbsp;years of strugg\u00adle, oppres\u00adsi\u00adon, and uncer\u00adtain\u00adty, I&nbsp;have found a&nbsp;home in Hun\u00adga\u00adry: a&nbsp;coun\u00adtry that gives me the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty to cla\u00adim my free\u00addom.<br>That is why this album is not only a&nbsp;tri\u00adbu\u00adte to Hungary\u2019s histo\u00adry, but also a&nbsp;per\u00adso\u00adnal thank you to all Hun\u00adga\u00adri\u00adans. A&nbsp;thank you to a&nbsp;coun\u00adtry that has shown me what true free\u00addom means. With every song and every note, I&nbsp;want to cele\u00adbra\u00adte this free\u00addom\u200a\u2014\u200aand share it with tho\u00adse who che\u00adrish it as much as I&nbsp;do.<br><strong><em>K\u00f6s\u00adz\u00f6n\u00f6m, Hun\u00adga\u00adry!<\/em><\/strong><br><br>My new 2025 album, \u201cHungary\u2019s Free\u00addom, My Free\u00addom,\u201d<br>is far more than just a&nbsp;musi\u00adcal work to me: it is my per\u00adso\u00adnal com\u00admit\u00adment to a&nbsp;coun\u00adtry whe\u00adre I&nbsp;found the free\u00addom I&nbsp;had always sought. I&nbsp;did not find it in the GDR, nor did I&nbsp;find it in the FRG.
